Complete with traditional wrought iron balconies, this modern Antebellum style hotel sits near the street artists and shops of Jackson Square, the famous trolleys, pro sports facilities and the convention center. The hotel also offers room service from area restaurants during certain hours, dial up Internet access and transportation to and from Louis Armstrong International Airport. This New Orleans hotel in the French Quarter features 37 air conditioned guestrooms and nine suites with private baths, jetted tubs, exposed brick walls or hardwood floors, Italian Frette linens, cable/satellite TV, ceiling fans, coffeemakers and data ports. Until the 1940s, the Hotel Royal’s building remained a private home until portions were transformed into a Laundromat. By the 1960s, massive infusions of capital turned the building into a hotel, and a redo in 2001 by renowned architect and interior designer Lee Ledbetter ushered the French Quarter hotel into the modern age with extra space and original artwork by local artist Edward Whiteman. |
