Location. The 18th century former French Quarter townhouse, Dauphine Orleans Hotel in New Orleans, La., was built in 1775 and sits one block from Bourbon Street and Royal Street. Various attractions are located one mile from the hotel, including Harrah’s New Orleans Casino & Hotel, the Mississippi River and the Riverwalk. Hotel Features. Complimentary continental breakfasts and complimentary afternoon tea are served daily, and a bar and coffee lounge are both located on site. Complimentary cocktails are available in the bar, which also houses a library. Complimentary wireless Internet access is available throughout the property. A fountain filled courtyard hosts an outdoor splash pool and spa tub. The hotel staff takes care of the resident black cat, who wanders the property each day. Guestrooms. Many guestrooms feature exposed brick walls and desks. Bathrooms display granite countertops, marble floors and Lord & Mayfair toiletries. The hotel provides turndown service and an air filtration system in each room. Expert Tip. A little piece of history: May Baily’s Place, one of the well known bordellos in the red light district, now serves as the hotel bar. Each room contains a copy of the license issued to May in 1857. Parking Policy: Parking fees are subject to change during special events without notice. One parking space is available per room. The hotel is non smoking, but smoking is permited on the patio and in May Baily’s Bar. There is a $200 penalty fee charged. |

From Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport: Approximate distance to the hotel is 13.5 miles. Take I 10 East to the I 10/610 split. Pass the “New Orleans Business District.” Merge right at the Slidell/1 10 split. Continue on I 10 to “Orleans Avenue/Vieux Carre” Exit (235 A). The ramp exit will merge with Orleans Avenue. Move into the far left lane. Take the U turn at the sign that reads “N. Rampart via Toulouse.” Immediately merge into the far right lane. This will lead to the Toulouse entrance into the French Quarter. Go three blocks to Dauphine Street and take a right. The hotel is located two blocks ahead on the right. |
