Year Built - 1858 Year Remodeled - 1981 Historical Inn, Moderate Class. Grand Antebellum Italianate Mansion With An Expansive Courtyard Watched Over By A Giant Crepe Myrtle Tree And Cooled By A Splashing Fountain. Built In The Classical Style In 1858 By Richard Terrell As His Family Residence. The Terrell Family Lived In The House During The Civil War And Reconstruction Era. Restored And Opened As An Inn In 1984 With Only 10 Rooms, All Individually Decorated. All Furnishings In Terrell House Are Antiques Authentic To The Style And Period Of The House. There Is Even On Display A Full Set Of Children S Furniture C. 1850 In The Mallard Style. Throughout The House Are Oriental Rugs And Carpets, Marble Mantles, And Gold Leaf Mirrors. Gaslight Era Chandeliers, Light Fixtures And Lamps Grace Every Room. Draperies, Wall Coverings, Paintings, And Carnival Memorabilia Recreate The Ambience Of Old New Orleans. Complimentary Breakfast Is Served Daily In The Dining Room, And In The Evening Guests Are Invited To Enjoy New Orleans Hospitality In The Parlor Or In The Courtyard. The Terrell House Is A Member Of The Distinguished Inns And Historic Hotels And Also A Member Of The New Orleans Metropolitan Convention Visitors Bureau.
