Location. Hotel Features. Prior to the building of the Parc St. Charles, the area was occupied by French Quarter-style row houses lining Poydras Street to Lafayette Square. During the Louisiana oil boom of the 1970s and 1980s, the hotel was built and housed a branch of the Bank of Louisiana. Cocktails are relished at the hotel's Corner Pub, a popular bar that overlooks Poydras Street, and Panasia, the fine-dining establishment that dishes up Oriental and contemporary American dishes, such as rib eye steaks and braised lamb shanks.
